During your session, you’ll remain fully clothed and lie on a treatment table. The session begins with a consultation (10-30 minutes) to tailor the treatment to your needs. The practitioner gently places their hands on or above your body in various positions, starting from the crown and working down to the feet.

You’ll start on your back, then roll onto your stomach for the second half of the session. You’ll be covered with a blanket and supported with pillows. Reiki is not a massage, and the practitioner will never touch sensitive areas unless specifically requested.

Many clients feel sensations like tingling, warmth, or cold, and some experience pain relief or emotional shifts. Reiki is a gradual process, so long-term benefits require time and consistency.

The number of Reiki sessions you’ll need depends on your individual goals and the nature of the issue you're addressing. While some benefit may be felt right away, Reiki is most effective when experienced over time. A series of four consecutive sessions is often recommended as a starting point, especially for chronic conditions.

Having three or four sessions over a 4-week period helps to clear deep-rooted blocks in your energy system. Afterward, weekly or bi-weekly sessions are beneficial until the issue is resolved. Long-term conditions may require more time, but consistency is key for lasting change.

Reiki helps maintain balance in the energy field, and when combined with good nutrition and exercise, it supports overall health. Many clients choose ongoing sessions every 1-2 weeks as part of their wellness routine.

After your Reiki session, try to relax and avoid stressful tasks. If you can’t go straight home, take some time for a calming activity before returning to your usual routine.

Just like a full in-person Reiki Healing session, the practitioner sets up the treatment space with care, tailoring it to meet the client’s needs and requirements.

All the client needs to do is create a calm, quiet space in their home or office for the session, ensuring it’s conducive to receiving energy. The client can either sit or lie down (depending on the session length), with soft music playing (usually provided by the practitioner), curtains closed, dim lighting (candles work well), and an aromatherapy oil burner or vaporiser if possible. Phones should be placed away or set to silent, and external distractions minimised. Once everything is set, the client gently closes their eyes and allows themselves to receive Reiki Healing, sent from the practitioner’s Reiki treatment space to theirs.

After the session, take a moment to gently settle and ease back into your daily life. Return the space to its original condition and drink water. Reiki should leave you feeling calm and relaxed, and the goal is to carry this peaceful state with you throughout your day. When you get up, take your time, moving slowly and deliberately.

There are no video or phone calls during the actual Reiki session, as this can disrupt the focus. However, a Zoom, FaceTime, or phone consultation can be arranged before and after the session to ground and disengage.
